We are really excited for spring around here and it just doesn't want to come. But we've kept busy anyway. Last weekend, my friend Sara and I took Sarah and Maren, along with her two youngest, to Red Butte Gardens for Arbor Day. We made it just in time to get the very last parking place in the lot before having to park forever away and ride the shuttle. I wasn't just being entitled and parking by the front door- this is honestly where they put us!

We had a really great time even though it persisted in being windy and cold the entire outing. Sarah and Alayna shared a fruit-by-the-foot, sat on a moose, and posed as often as we would get out the camera. Sarah got tired at the end, but I wouldn't let her ride in the stroller, because she's too big (and we were going uphill when she asked. Had I known that later that night she'd present with a 102degree fever, I might have caved. She probably was a little tired.) Anyway, Maren

loved the freedom to walk around a little and explore. She loves to walk on grass, and says "rass" (actually she doesn't say the 'r', but this is a family blog) when she's on it.

Saturday night, Ryan and I went to a Dierks Bentley concert, and Bucky Covington opened for him. I am not an American Idol fan, so I wasn't familiar with ol' Bucky, but he was awesome. He bounced around the stage the whole time like a kangaroo. And, of course, Dierks was even better. Aside from the fact that we no longer are conditioned to staying out that late, we had a great time. Ryan's brother, Jeff, and his wife, Frankie, went with us, so to quote the trite and overused yearbook caption, "a great time was had by all." So check out some of their songs on the blog playlist.

Sounds like you guys have been staying very busy! The garden place looked like lots of fun. And I do remember Bucky from American Idol... I voted for him! Glad you guys had a good time. I hear ya on trying to get spring to come. It is snowing here today. Honestly. Snow. Awesome.

I love the pics of Red Butte Garden, looks like a good time was had by all. Thanks for the comment, I do love babysitting, and each little kiddo has a special place in my heart!:D I love 'em all. Sorry about Sunday, I was planning on coming but then my mom and sister decided not to go. I will call and remind the girls. Love the blog!

I just LOVE Sarah's outfit. She reminds me of Rachel when she was that age! The hat is of course the BEST!

Such cute kids you have!

Sounds like a fun outing. I haven't been to the gardens in a while, but I'll be seeing Red Butte on at least a weekly basis now - it's part of my new job! I am the 'dam tender' for Red Butte Reservoir; home of the famous "june sucker". I didn't know you guys were such American Idol fans?!?!

Although it was cold it looked beautiful. Good for you for getting out, I feel like I've been stuck in my house for the last six months straight.
P.S. Digging Sarah's hat. I need to get me one for yard work.

First of all, someone should really notify blogger they need an edit/spell check button for comments. (That was me who had to delete the previous comment due to a slight freudian slip). I am so glad you went to the crazy free day at RBG with me. I loved it. When I got home I DL the pics from the day and you know that picture 'I could not take but the gay guy could?' Yeah; I might as well have taken it. He was so far away (and didn't use the zoom) that you can't see Alayna or I and the moose isn't realy recognizable. Ya know I don't discriminate, but seriously you would think a queer eye... Until our next adventure...
