Krazy Kayak Kids

Ryan started working nights yesterday for the refinery shutdown, so he had the day off (kind of). So we decided to head up into the mountains. Jared got a new kayak for his birthday while we were in ID (yes, I know it isn't for another three months but he's really spoiled and it's hard to get a new kayak in October!) so he was dying to try it out. We went up American Fork Canyon to Silver Flat Lake. It was incredibly beautiful and we basically had the whole lake to ourselves all morning except for a couple of shore fishermen.

Ryan patiently helped the girls bait their fishing lines over and over, and when we finally caught a little fish, they all screamed hysterically when he flopped into the boat. You would have thought it was a giant sea monster. Maren kept saying, "No Fish. No Fish." Rachel refused to even touch it. Sarah recovered nicely, and even gave the fish a kiss to demonstrate later to Maren that it was 'nice', but to no avail. I guess it's good we only caught one little fish, or the girls may have fainted dead away on the next go 'round. We ate that little fish for dinner tonight, and he was scrumptious! Maren said, "More Fish. More Fish."
