Whew!

Our past two weeks have been crazy crazy (to quote one of my favorite patients). I don't have any pictures ready, so you'll just have to employ that old imagination for a sec...

1. My parents returned home from their mission in the Philippines. Rachel was honestly sobbing as they came down the escalator in the airport. It was really cute. My dad's first request was a glass of milk that didn't come from a yak. They met their four new grandchildren and we had a grand old reunion. They brought us home boar tooth necklaces- don't be surprised if I wear mine to church next week. It's awesome- and kind of dangerous. Maren likes to poke it into my chin.

2. Ryan and I left the kids in Idaho with my sister and sister-in-laws to bond while we came home for work and camp. We had a very quiet house for a couple of days.

3. Girls Camp. This can be a very short summary. I have a flashlight shaped bruise on my leg from falling out of my camping chair (yes, in front of everybody). I received a thank-you note from a first year camper with the following, "Thank you for letting me go to camp. Even though you yelled a lot, it made it more fun." That pretty much sums up not just camp, but my entire philosophy of life, don't you think? The trip home was livened up by a flat tire, dead battery, and two hour traffic jam in Parley's Canyon. Aaaah, camp.

4. Back to Idaho to pick up the kids and listen to my parents mission report. It was inspiring and wonderful. The kids weren't even ready to go home (after 2 weeks- can you believe it?). Well, Maren was, but none of the rest of them were.

Wow, the past weeks seem to have lost much of the chaos I felt in this condensed version. Or maybe I'm just a major whiner. I guess I need to find someone to yell at!

It has been a whirlwind last couple of weeks, super fun! And it is your job to yell at camp. Someone has to do it. I forgot to ask you how your taco salad for 500 went?

Oh Amy! I bet you were AWESOME at camp. I just know you were. I am so happy to hear your parents made it back safely and got to enjoy the simple things taken for granted of by us all, like milk! I'll be waiting for those pics!

Ah the honesty of teenagers. I didn't like camp when I was in young women's. I think you're amazing to run it for a whole ward. What a great example your parents are to your kids! That's so sweet that Rachel was so moved to see them again. Back to the grind huh?

Glad you survived! It was fun seeing everybody over the weekend. I added the kids pictures we took on our blog, so check it out when you get a chance.

What a crazy two weeks. I'm so glad your parents made it home. You've got a lot of catching up to do with them. I'm also glad to hear you made it through camp. You're a brave woman!
