Well, I hope his mother remembered to take that purple crayon out of his pocket before she washed his pants. This is what I found today when I opened the dryer. Go ahead and look at the picture closely- it's like I accidentally washed Barney. There was thankfully only one pair of little girl pants in there and the rest were mainly dishtowels and sheets. But I'm not sure if the color will continue to shed on further cycles, so I stuck some more towels in there to find out. You may be asking yourself if the entire load has random purple streaks on it? The answer is yes. Check those pockets girls, or you may be sorry like me.

I am so sorry this happened!I wash a tube of chapstick at least once a month, so i feel your pain. and at the risk of sounding like a total know it all, I saw martha stewart take out crayon once. she put a paper bag down on her ironing board. then put the cloth on the ironing board and covered it with another paper bag. then ironed it. the hot iron melted the wax a little and the paper bag soaked it up. if there is anything in the load you want to save, might be worth a shot?
Oh Amy...I'm so sorry. I've washed quite a few Halloween candies this week but luckily they didn't get all over just a melty-mess contained in the wrapper.
Try hairspray, it gets out ink.

oh yuck. That is no fun. I've tried the wax w/ iron trick and it worked for me. Good luck. I'm doing laundy today...so i'll check dem' pockets twice I think.
"Like I accidentally washed Barney" is a brilliant line. I wish I could say that I have no experience with this type of thing, but unfortunately I do. I doubt you'll see more of the same purple crayon in future loads.
We've washed and dried chapstick, kleenex, and green gum, but not a purple crayon. I'm glad it was just towels. It always happens to my favorite shirt.
