Knock on Wood

Today I had one of those crazy instances where you completely curse yourself. I was responding to an email from my sister. We have passed the flu back and forth through our extended families more than gifts over the holidays, and thought we were finally through. She asked if anyone else had been sick since Jared was on Sunday last. I was literally typing, "no one has been sick since Sunday..." when the phone rang. Rachel was calling from school. Could I please pick her up. She just vomited. Not what I had in mind for this morning. I have to go make some Jello now.

JIIIINNNX! I hate when I jinx myself. I'm sorry Rachel is sick. Hopefully this will be the end of the tummy bug. FOREVER.

No sick strikes terror into the heart of a mom like stomach sick.
Seth had it this week, too. He was resting in a chair that was covered in towels, he was then covered in towels. In his lap was placed a large bowl in the even he would need to hurl.
He did need to hurl. He got up, stepped over the bowl and all the towels that fell from his lap, and proceeded to puke like a lawn sprinkler all over the rug that I value more than my home.
May Rachel be the final victim at your house, and may she hit the right target when she hurls.

What is the jello for? Seriously. I've lived in Utah and Idaho for most of my life but I've never heard anyone say they're making jello in the same sentence as the flu.

Thanks for responding to my inquiry about your folks. I love your honest response and pray that Heavenly Father will make your heart strong. You encouraged me one year ago when I was mourning the first and much shorter departure of my parents on their mission. I send my love and support to you now, hoping that this thing that seems to be a bummer will ultimately turn out to be an inestimable blessing. Much, much love. Lauralee
