This year Ryan and I treated ourselves to an anniversary trip. It isn't a landmark year or anything, we just decided to get away for a few days. Thanks to generous neighbors, cousins, and friends, as well as Grandma, we were able to still get the kids to all the places they needed to be and give them somewhere to sleep and be fed. Thanks all you who made our trip possible- we had a great time. And Ryan never did beat me at Scrabble throughout the whole trip.
One of the days we went to Jackson Hole. We rode the tram up to the top of the ski resort. It takes you up 4,000 feet and the temperature dropped 30 degrees. It was windy and cold up there, but so beautiful.
Aren't you just waiting for me to break into "The Sound of Music"?
That afternoon we went to Jenny's Lake in Grand Teton National Park. We hiked the perimeter, which Ryan thought was 3 miles, but ended up being 7.5. Oh well, what's an extra 4.5 miles when you're on a romantic getaway anyway-- a lot, actually. We were pooped by the end. Then we went to Jackson for dinner and I ran into my friend Kim at the restaurant. It was great.
Ryan takes a great many scenery shots, so I usually don't post very many of them. However, this one deserved a place on the post. It's from our hike.
