Not fun at the beach

This is the moment when everything went south for Maren. She cried for a half an hour that her dad make her drink yucky water in the ocean and refused to get into the water anymore after that. But she loved making sandcastles and flying kites.

Kindergarten orientation is this afternoon. Maren let me know that because she can count to 19, the teachers "will be fighting of me. I want her in my class. No- I get her in mine. She can count!"

I'm with her. All the fun at the beach is had ON the beach. Or in tidal pools. Or where the water is only waist high. And quiet. And without too much kelp. And...
