I have to jump on the bandwagon and join the collective hurrah for Michael Phelps. He really is such an awesome kid. Jared and a few of his buddies have started swimming this year, and it is so fun to have an exciting push for the sport they're getting interested in (not that it truly made it any easier for Jared to get up this morning after 5 days in Lake Powell to go to practice). I hope me makes his 8 medal goal.

So since I've started in on the Olympics, I'll list a few pet peeves. I can't stand the filler commentary that goes on. Last night we watchedthe American female gymnasts put chalk on their hands for 5 minutes before each of their routines while we could vaguely see other countrie's athletes performing their routines on the vault in the fuzzy background. I would rather watch the athletes then hear about how nervous the USA team is! I have to agree that almost none of the female chinese gymnasts actually look 16- but they still nailed their events better than our team. And since we can't watch most of the events live anyway, why do they have to have all the exciting stuff on around 10:30pm? We may be boring, but we just aren't typically up that late.

He really is inspirational.

Good for you to keep up with all the olympic coverage. I am embarrased to say I've seen minimal so far. I am trying to do better, but I'm a wimp. I get tired at night and am known to fall asleep if sitting too long.
I wonder about those little Chinese girls. In Korea, you are born age 1. Maybe they do something similar in China? But, I don't think they even look 15, more like 12!
Aim! If you are interested in competing...you're only 3 days behind so~ I'm cool with you joining. Plus, the more entries, the more money I will win!
watching the relay where they barely beat the French team was so awesome. Matt and I were cheering so loud, I'm surprised we didn't wake the whole neighborhood. Olympic fever, baby!
