Yep - this is bread that I actually made, and I did it all by myself. Actually, not entirely by myself. This is a thank-you blog to my sister-in-law Adrian who introduced me to this awesome method for having yummy french bread around whenever you want it. The book is called Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day. And it truly is easy and fun.
The only hard part for me to get started was that the recipe calls for using a broiler pan to get steam going in your oven, which I didn't have. But then I found one at the DI for $3. Now we just keep dough in the fridge and it's so yummy to have a fresh loaf of crispy bread with dinner. The kids usually eat every bit, and Rachel even eats the crust (which is not her usual forte). Thanks, Ade!

I thought of you the minute I heard about this book! I'll have to take a look at yours, see if I can really do it.
So glad you like it!! It's addicting isn't it? And so easy. Love it! I need to expand and try the other recipes, but I cant stop making the master recipe.
I know what our next 'morning in the kitchen date' is going to be... :)
I'm all over it. Thanks for the new idea!
Good reason to go to the bookstore!
