Preso Pesto

There is so much to love about fall. My good friend Sara and I collectively harvested our basil plants and spent the morning making lots of fresh pesto to freeze for future yummy dinners. Then we got to test it out for lunch- and believe me, it was worth the effort! I can't wait for more pesto vinaigrette, creamy pesto pasta, pesto chicken salad, and on and on. MMMMM.

Sarah went to her first day of kindergarten today. On the walk up to the school she commanded me to "say random things about how I can't go to school yet", and then she'd laugh and say, "Oops Mom. You're wrong. I AM going to school!." The the negotiations began...First off, she didn't even want me to accompany her onto school property because she knows the way. Then I had to negotiate to get over the parking lot, in the front doors and down the hall to the backpack pegs. That was the last straw and I was informed that I was not, under any circumstances, to follow her out to the playground and hang around til the bell rang "like those other moms out there." I can't wait to hear about her first real day of school.

Jared began practicing the trombone last night. The girls would laugh every note he tried and said it always sounded like a giant fart. I wanted to reprimand them, but they were actually pretty close. But Jared thought it was funny anyway, so it didn't matter.

BTW- we are getting rid of this old Coca Cola cooler. Ryan put it on KSL and a lady was supposed to come pick it up last night so I posted it as sold, but she never showed up. So if anybody wants it, let me know.

Sara cracks me up! Imagine what it will be like when she has her first date and the guy comes to pick her up! Hilarious! K- I don't know what's up with my blog and it saying it was adult. All I really write about is Mitchell and surely there isn't anything adult about him. I don't know what to tell ya! Sorry!

Oh Sarah! She is such a doll! I am sure she had a blast.

and your pesto sounds delicious!

and mom and dad are planning an FHE to show their wares from their shipment, so I didn't really see much of it either, but Lindy caught sight of the umbrellas and mom gave in and gave her hers early. :) So don't feel bad!

And way to go Jared on the trombone. You guys are the musicaliest family! I wish we had the talent!

And now I will claim my prize for longest comment ever.
