Last night Maren said the blessing on the food before dinner and ignored the help I was trying to give her. She did it all on her own! It was absolutely sincere.
"Heavenly Father, thank you my polka dot pants... (and then with her very best Vanna White hand flourish across her legs)...these ones right here. AMEN!! (shouted for emphasis)"

If I had polka dot pants I would be grateful, too. Priceless!
I had a pair of polka dot polyester pants with a matching shirt (shirt looked like a bunch of quilt blocks put together). I liked them so much I have a journal entry about them! I love this prayer! Too bad I don't always remember to be grateful for the simple things.
