Way to go, Carrie

Miss USA controversy: Carrie Prejean says gay marriage answer cost crown, but she'd say it again

This was the headline for today's New York Daily News article. I am surprised at how much media backlash she's getting for stating her beliefs. I did a little surfing today, and beyond the 'judge' whose questions got all the attention calling her the big B word, she's been referred to as a bigot, a blond, and numerous other things about her intelligence and her traditional values.

I was so impressed with her when I saw the clip. She may have not been the most eloquent, but who would be under so much pressure with such a topic. She was composed and spoke about how she felt. She wasn't deorgatory, yet so many voices are in their response to her answer.

Our religious leaders have been telling us for awhile that our values will be seen as too traditional, outdated, silly. Even though Miss Prejean is from a different faith, we have values in common and I was proud to see her defend them in a difficult position. Way to go!

Thank you for telling me about this. I'm going to share it with my family. I also like seeing "Way to go Carrie" on a headline even when it doesn't refer to me. It still makes me feel good.

While not as pertinent as the post about the world record holder her broke her very freaky nails off in a car accident, this current event post was very telling. What courage it would take to stand in front of millions and declare a very unpopular view. Wow!

I think Carrie is fantastic. If you don't think you'll like the answer then don't ask the question, I say.

Where are yooooooou? Without your blog I don't know what's going on with the Mortimer/Waltons. Are you going on your trip this month? It's sad that I don't just pick up the phone isn't it? I'm pathetic.
