I just got back from Target where I may not be able to go for a while after today's visit. Maren got sick and threw up all over the Easter aisle!
A very kind Target employee got me a roll of paper towels and showed me where the closest garbage can was. She watched Maren while I cleaned it up the best I could with dry towels. Next we went straight for hand sanitizer aisle and used about 1/2 a bottle. We grabbed a new shirt for her and we went up to check out where we got an extra bag for the pukey shirt and her jacket. I changed her as soon as they rang up her new shirt.
Maren kept saying, "Want to go in car and go sleep." Poor thing. Poor me too.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO! Interesting verification, Glade, as in air freshener.
Poor you and poor Maren. That is so crazy because I was at Target yesterday. Ben fell and hit his nose. Gushed blood like I have never seen before. A employee ran up and started helping me and watched Mason while I held Ben and tried to stop the bleeding. He was so helpful and nice. It took like 10 minutes to get Ben's nose to stop bleeding and all the while he helped and offered me kleenex and wet wipes, etc...I was very happy with Target yesterday.
WoW! By the sounds of it I should stay away from Target for a few days for fear my children too will have some messy tragedy. I hope she feels better and I hope you treat yourself to something special- you deserve it!
You have my sympathy. Mine was Will at Costco when he was three. Splat all over that sealed concrete floor. He got a new dinosaur shirt out of the deal. I wish I weren't a sympathy barfer. I almost joined him.
Oh Amy--I'm so sorry. I was just thinking how easy Sarah was and then lately we've been having some struggles. I thinking that there are no "shortcuts" on our kids. Not that you were exactly thinking that Maren was a piece of cake--but every single one of them is a huge responsibility and needs a lot of care. Lucky it happened in a store with cute clothes. Poor little Maren. My whole family is proud of her for finding the guy to help her at Sam's Club. Way impressed.
Eww...I hear soemthing is going around. My sisters family has all had it and now I've heard that Kam and Austin are home barfing. My poor mom. I hope no one else in your family gets sick.
My best barf story was when we finally get to church on time so we decide to sit up front-a first and I'll add-a last- and Austin pukes in my lap (he's about Mareens age) I have to gather my dress and try to gracefully walk all the way up the isle to the back door (as there wasn't a front door) with Austin in hand. It was terrible!
I think it's harder on us moms when the kids get sick, especially in publc. We just got through the previews at the movie theater when Ice Age 2 came out and Reagen yakked all over me. I was covered from my chin to my toes. We had to leave and I had a 20 minute drive to get home. I hope she's feeling better.
OH Amy, so sorry! Maren will forget all about it and just be happy for her new shirt. It is definitely you who needs the sympathy. And I am sending you all of mine!
Can't wait to see you guys this weekend! I hear Jared is going under the knife. Wish him luck, we'll have to bring him a slushy or something.
That is the pits, I am sorry for both you and her. I hope she feels better soon.
Oh Amy,
That Target trip doesn't sound fun---I hope Maren is doing better.
I just read your Dec. 12th (or so) post asking for a response from me, and hey, I'm responding! Only a few months late, right? I am not a frequent blog commenter, but that's probably because I don't have a blog. :)
I do indeed feel sorry for you and your little one! However, thank goodness for those nice Target employees!
