Last weekend was Grandma and Grandpa camp, so Ryan and I had a chance to go to Sun Valley, ID and get some rafting in. We normally don't buy the photos, but this series was pretty good.
We are seated in the front of the raft. It was about 53 degrees outside and the water was absolutely frigid. Lots of runoff and there's been rain too, so the river was high. We had three river guides on our trip with us so there would be enough people to paddle.
Things started to get a little interesting at this point. Notice how I'm turned sideways instead of actively paddling. That's because a monster wave was sucking me out of the raft.
I know Ryan loves me because he grabbed my foot and kept me by the raft when I went down. Whew--he passed the test! And obviously I made it back in the raft so I could blog about it. I would like to brag that I did not lose my paddle! Note the death grip that I have on it. You may want to look at this photo full size- it's pretty funny. If you'll be up that direction and want the guide company information, call me. I'm sure you'll be smart enough to stay in the raft.

I think you look very rugged in these photos. Way to be outdoorsy and X-treme! Nice job!
Reminds me of a time looonnng ago when we were rafting on the Snake River with your family. The one thing I remember is that there was a no-it-all type guy with another group along in our raft. He went over and we were all glad. Why do I remember that and nothing else? What does that say about me?
That is a totally rugged picture!! (I did look at the large version!) It looks like you are so tough that you must ride your bike 12 miles twice a week and conquer Winchester Hill!
You are one tough cookie and I'm so glad you lived to blog about it!
You're a stud!
wow girl! Very cool.
Okay, you have way too much influence on me. You're the one who convinced me to start a blog and seeing your pictures and talking to you about it, actually convinced me to start again. It was fun seeing those great pics and I keep thinking on the way back that I miss sharing pics and my Pop Culture stuff. So, even though I've really enjoyed the break, I'm starting again!
I am glad that you did not chicken out, now you have those fun memories with your husband. Thanks for sharing the pictures, I am glad that you are ok.
HOLY COW! You said it was going to be rough. I can't believe those photos! You are so adventurous!
So glad you are alive to tell about it! That looks as intense as I'm sure it was. What an adventurer! You should be on Man vs. Wild!
Hilarious!!! Love the picture. Love that Ryan wanted to keep you for a while longer!
dID YOU FIGURE THIS WEEKEND OUT? Sorry, caps! Let me know if you need me to help. And by all means have fun :)

Well, what a fun surprise to find on my seldom-checked blog! A message from my new friend! I would love to give you my address so I can get a new spinning cd! I am so excited. How did the skirt and apron work for you?
