Camping

We actually made it camping the weekend before school started. Here are a few shots. All who fished caught one- even if they were tiny. Ryan untangled many lines. Jared hooked the front of his boat. Rachel decided she doesn't actually like fish after we cleaned and cooked them. I slept on a cluster of no fewer than 10 sharp rocks. (When we cleaned up, Ryan even said I should win the prize for worst spot.) Maren insisted we keep a light on in the tent all night- for two nights! The latrines were stinky and Maren was afraid of the 'windy potty'. The campers next us ran their generator each evening. We packed up and came home in pouring rain. The last picture pretty much sums it up!

However, at the campfire, Jared remarked, "I guess it's the little things like this I'll remember when I'm grown up." It was probably worth the effort after all.

That last picture is hilarious! I do think I feel more sorry for you then I do for Mareen.
Great post!

Sounds like a great family trip. I think Jared hit the nail on the head. With that said, I am dreading the stinky, windy potty facilities facing me this weekend. But I do plan on staking out the best sleeping spot.

Generators and camping...don't even get me started.
A neighbor of ours, I won't mention names, invited us to go "camping" with them. Lot's of fun, they said. At night we crank up the generator and watch movies!
WTH.

Looks like it was well worth it indeed. Your last picture is my house 99% of the time. So at least you had tons of fun up until the end.
