Christmas Catch up

Well, January is almost over and I am just getting around to loading our Christmas pictures.  I will just offer a lame recap of the holiday events and the rest of our month.  You can then scroll down to see random pictures of said events.

We started out the holiday week by driving to Las Vegas with Jared for a water polo camp.  Really, men must have planned it because the dates were Dec 21-23.  Women would understand that that is exceptionally unreasonable!  We farmed out all the girls to gracious friends and neighbors and skipped town.  After a white-knuckle drive (blizzard, many cars off the road, lady next to me in the bathroom when we could finally get off the road had pooped her pants... you get the picture) we got Jared to his camp, went to dinner with our old friends, Corby and Ammie Frehner and their kids, and did some last-minute Christmas shopping.  We went to Hoover Dam while it was pouring rain, which I guess was great for crowd control, but it was freezing.  It was an amazing piece of engineering and I would recommend it to anyone to see.  Well worth it, with the caveat that you have to pay $7 for parking, hence you will not see an actual picture of the dam, only of me being wet and the sidewalk across the top.

Christmas was delightful.  We got cookies made, presents opened, time spent with family and friends and ate ourselves sick.

We got back into school and a routine of swimming, dance, piano, band......  Jared started snowboarding lessons.  Ryan got a promotion at work.  He is now the Superintendant of precious metals.  I know, it sounds very official.  But now maybe he can really get me clearance to watch them pour gold bars. I have wanted to see that for a long time!  I went to my cousin Katrina's wedding which was lovely and caught up with all the relatives.

Last week I drove to Texas with my sister who moved to San Antonio.  It was so fun to be with her and her kids and they did amazingly on the drive.   Much better than I expected, or than I did, for that matter.  They didn't seem to get stiff from sitting like us adults.  When I got back we began a string of plumbing problems with torn out walls and ceilings, so the house is a mess!  And it's snowing today.  Which will thrill Jared who has a lesson this afternoon.  At least he rides the bus and I don't have to drive up the mountain.

Best wishes for a good rest of January to all!  Let me know how everyone is doing.

It all looks fun!!! Especially the lady with the poopy pants--what I want to know is why you were checking out your neighbors butt!

let me clarify. I was not looking at her butt! Her soiled undies were on the floor in her stall and the smell was overpowering. poor lady. She was trying to clean up and wrapping her pants in seat covers. It was bad, let me tell you.

Watch the potty lingo on the blog. You may have to give the VT lesson.
